16 years passed between the first game and the release of 'Psychonauts 2', but for its protagonist Razputin 'Raz' Aquato is still very young.

The video game developer Double Fine Productions perfected the narrative, the interaction between characters and the way to tell us about the complexity of the human brain and its wonders.

Mental health in a video game

The first thing you should know is that Raz is a talented member of an organization of psychic spies with special powers.

He must be involved in solving a mystery, but he will quickly get into trouble.

'Psychonauts 2' takes us through colorful landscapes in the head of one of the characters (all wonderfully made) where there will be nightmares, regrets and where you will move with something in mind: everything that happens is unexpected and strange.

The humor of the story and the way of narrating and discovering mysteries is well told through personal motivations that we will know when Raz enters the minds of others.

Some of the thoughts are haunting and explore serious mental health issues, perfectly cared for by Double Fine Production studio, and framed very artistically.

There are many animated sequences and some are long, so you forget that you are playing and just sit and watch the next part of the story unfold.

As for the controls, it is easy to move and in almost all the challenges the game is intuitive, although Raz still lacks a bit of precision and fluidity, especially in the jumps.

You will have to perfect a lot of jumps, fighting, aiming and your level of agility.

By having mental powers, Raz will be able to set fire, explode things and even move things with the power of the mind, but that you can see in a graphic way.

Conclusions:

Although 'Psychonauts 2' is mainly about Raz's psychic development, but it also focuses intensely on one of the characters that appeared in the first game.

It is a really interesting, fun game in which you want to turn to see everything that surrounds Raz.

It is a game that was improved in all respects over the original game.

The landscapes in the minds of the characters are wild and come alive with music that adds a haunting and playful touch.

'Psychonauts 2' is a great game that manages to keep you in suspense about what will come next and amazes you as the story progresses.

Although it took 16 years to have this sequel, it was completely worth it.
