Singer Miri Aloni was rushed to Ichilov Hospital on Tuesday (Tuesday) in critical condition with a serious infection in her leg.
It is now clear that due to her being in real danger of death, she was taken to surgery, at the end of which her right leg was amputated from the knee down, according to a tweet from the Ichilov Hospital's Twitter account.
"It will be good. I thank the hospital for saving my life," said Aloni, adding, "I have always lived on one leg anyway. By then I will not be a right-hander in football, but my vocal cords will continue with me to the end."
Aloni was in the middle of rehearsals at the Haifa Theater for the musical "The Station," written by Shai Lahav and Dafna Engel, about a group of young people being admitted to a military station.
The singer is expected to play one of the mythical broadcasters on the station, who meets the younger generation.
