Because of a fire in an asylum shelter, the emergency services had to move to Wolfersdorf.

The mission turned out to be difficult.

Wolfersdorf

- In an asylum accommodation in the Wolfersdorf district of Seel, there was a fire late on Wednesday evening.

First, the Freising police were called for disturbing the peace.

On site, however, the deployment developed differently.

When the officers arrived, they already noticed a lot of smoke from the upper floor of the accommodation.

The firefighters who were called in began immediately with the extinguishing work.

The police reported that the 60 emergency services from the Attenkirchen, Appersdorf, Berghaslbach and Oberhaindlfing fire departments were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

Since it was initially suspected that there might still be people in the premises, the Attenkirchen Defense Forces went on a search, but were soon able to rule this out.

Fortunately, nobody was injured.

Accommodation uninhabitable

The cause of the fire was a 46-year-old resident who, according to initial investigations, had smoked a cigarette in bed.

In addition to this already grossly negligent behavior, the 46-year-old hindered the rescue work so massively that he had to be taken into police custody, the report continues.

Criminal proceedings await him now.

The pure fire damage amounts to around 20,000 euros, but the damage is estimated to be significantly higher due to the associated extinguishing work.

The entire property was also so badly affected that it is no longer habitable for the time being.

The district office organized the relocation of the five residents to other accommodations in the district.
