The pavilion of the Syrian Trading Corporation in Al-Aila market in Damascus is witnessing a demand from citizens to buy meat and chicken, which are sold at prices ranging between 25 and 35 percent less than the market, according to those in charge of them.

The director of the Syrian branch of trade in Damascus, Talal Hammoud, said in a statement to SANA that meat and chicken items were offered at reduced prices within the section designated for this in the institution’s pavilion in the “Al-Aila Market” located in the old exhibition city in Damascus with the aim of providing the material to citizens and achieving the desired goal by positive intervention, where the kilo is sold. One gram of cutlets costs 11,500 Syrian pounds, the rose is 7000 pounds, the pin is 6000 pounds, and the pasta is 9000 pounds, and the price of a kilo of raw and clean chicken is 6000 pounds.

Also, one kilogram of sheep meat “Habra sheep” with 25 percent fat is sold for 22,500 Syrian Pounds and without fat Shaqf and minced for 25,300 Syrian Pounds and boned at 18,500 Syrian Pounds and drained at 16000 Syrian Pounds, while the price of veal shaqf at 20500 Syrian Pounds and soft meat for 19000 Syrian Pounds and drained for 12,000 Syrian Pounds .

Hammoud pointed out that there is a high demand from citizens to buy meat and chicken and sell in large quantities daily, attributing the demand to the fact that prices are cheaper than the market by rates ranging between 25 and 35 percent.

During his purchase of meat from the establishment’s booth, Diaa Haboubati noted the prices of the offered meat, which coincided with the high price of meat and chicken in the local markets, which leads to a price break, pointing out that the price of chicken cutlets, for example, in the wing is 11,500 pounds, while in the markets more than 15000 pounds, and the price of a kilo of sheep’s meat is from 30,000 to 33,000 liras in the markets, while 25,300 liras in the wing.

While Ahmed Mustafa and Basma Darmoush expressed their hope to continue providing the two materials at acceptable prices at all times, pointing to the institution's continuous positive intervention inside and outside the family market through its complexes, halls and outlets.
