The mayor of Morón, Lucas Ghi, assured that the low cost airport of El Palomar "had had a positive impact on that place" and that he

aspires to have a talk with the Minister of Transport

, Alexis Guerrera, to "know his opinion" and express his own: "Our intention is to sustain it", synthesizes it.

The definition of the official communal chief is given in the previous STEP on Sunday, September 12 and, although he had previously pronounced in the same sense, it is

the first time he has said it

since it was decided to

postpone indefinitely the reopening

of the terminal civilian from the Base that the Air Force has in the West of Greater Buenos Aires,

Prior to that, both Ghi and his counterparts from Hurlingham and Tres de Febrero, bordering the airport, had publicly requested

the continuity of the airport

, which ultimately did not take place.

Today, in fact, that experience that began in February 2018 with

low-cost airlines

flying from El Palomar is

a flag of macrismo

that, in the region, opposition candidates raise

very frequently in the campaign.

"For health reasons, the Ministry of Transportation has not yet taken the last definition," said Lucas Ghi, mayor of Morón,

"For

health reasons,

the Ministry of Transportation has not yet taken the last definition," the mayor of Morón now reports on the decision made by the late owner of that portfolio, Mario Meoni.

The mayor reveals: "I

asked the new minister to have a chat

to find out his opinion because I believe that the commercial aviation activity in that place had had a positive impact. Our position is to support it."

The mayor of Nuevo Encuetro, the Sabbatellista party that is part of the Frente de Todos, made these definitions in dialogue with Clarín, in full campaign for his first electoral examination, since

in 2019 he recovered the municipality

after selling to Cambiemos.

After a little more than a year and a half in office in which the pandemic forced to redefine government strategies, and beyond what finally happens with the low cost airport, Ghi assures that in the coming months

the projects that delayed the coronavirus.

Among them are the development of an urban reserve and a sports center on the lands of the El Palomar Air Base, as well as a housing complex that will be built by the Nation.

But also the culmination of the works at the Deportivo Morón headquarters next to the new stadium, and the remodeling in the center, in which, as he says,

"it was not possible to advance in four years"

, in reference to the mandate of his Macrista predecessor, Ramiro Tagliaferro, whom he defeated in the last elections by three points, returning the Municipality to the Front of All.

Facing the first electoral examination after that reconquest of the commune that the party of the former AFSCA head and current head of ACUMAR, Martín Sabbatella, had practically controlled in solitude between 1999 and 2015, Ghi trusts that the PASO will repeat the success of the government alliance that at the local level also includes Massismo, Peronism and other sectors, with whom it managed to close a list of unity.

-How was the start of the management with the pandemic?

It was our turn at this stage to begin to readjust the original management plans.

This required speeding up the process that we had planned to develop in the first year, which was to normalize the health situation.

-Normalize?

-We find the health system in a delicate situation;

the Municipal Hospital left and in conflict with the professionals.

We wanted to channel this issue and rebuild the bond and trust.

But what we had planned to rebuild in a whole year, we had to solve it soon to attend to a phenomenon as delicate as the pandemic.

And we must not fail to recognize the effort of health workers that allowed the fundamental objective, which is that no one lack care, service or a respirator, to be achieved.

The impact is felt on all fronts, but there was action by the State to mitigate the effects.

-Were pending projects due to the coronavirus?

-There are projects that we had to postpone because priorities had to be redefined, but that are part of the post-pandemic and that are already beginning to be reactivated.

In the area of security, infrastructure, Procrear, which is being carried out to cover the need for housing, the urban reserve of El Palomar, asphalt improvements, among other works.

Ghi affirms that due to the pandemic, a health system that was "in a delicate situation" had to be "rebuilt soon".

-What is the completion of the new Deportivo Morón headquarters and the rearrangement of the center, where the old stadium was?

No progress could be made during the four years of the previous administration.

The trust was articulated and the municipality did not undertake any management for development.

Our goal was always to get it back, but the pandemic made us redefine emergencies.

Now we are again in talks with the developer group and with the authorities of Deportivo Morón to redirect it in the coming months.

-Is the return of the El Palomar Airport analyzed?

For health reasons, the Ministry of Transport has not yet adopted the last definition.

I asked the new minister to have a chat to get his opinion because I think that the commercial aviation activity in that place had had a positive impact.

Our position is to hold it.

The mayor of Morón in a children's garden.

He maintains that the investment of the current Provincial government in education "has no antecedents."

-How much does the alignment of the local government with the provincial and national influence when managing the municipality?

-It is important because we have a community of ideas and a country project that is the same.

So the policies that we think about locally, quickly find a counterpart at the provincial and national levels.

In any case, both the provincial and national governments have been working with all municipalities regardless of political color.

-How is your relationship with Governor Axel Kicillof?

It was very fluid and almost monopolized by the pandemic in the most critical months.

And now it stays that way, we talk every week.

The governor had a gymnastics of much exchange with the mayors before his meetings with the president and with the head of the Buenos Aires government, and then he took it as a habit.

I highlight his capacity for dialogue.

The investment made by the Province in the educational system has no precedent.

And he made an economic effort to improve the operation and logistics of the police.

-How was the assembly of the list of councilors in Morón?

The list expresses the previous journey, it is coherent with the government process that has been developing.

We assume a front that governs with different expressions, with dialogue and agreements.

Leading Leticia Guerrero, from Nuevo Encuentro, a colleague who is committed to the territory, has a great intellectual training and experience in different management roles.

Ghi, along with the first candidate for councilor on his list, the young political scientist and municipal official Leticia Guerrero.

-By 2023 you are one of the few who has reelection enabled, would you like to continue?

It is not an issue that is on the agenda.

After this intermediate election, the proper names that best express the continuity of this project locally will begin to be debated.

-Most of his peers are not qualified for another term.

In case a reform of the law is discussed, would you support it?

It is an issue that we are debating in order to have a statement when it becomes the axis of debate.

It admits different readings, it has arguments for and against.

There is nothing more democratic than the vote of the citizen to determine who governs.

-Do you speak regularly with Martín Sabbatella on local management issues?

Were you part of the assembly of the list for the PASO?

Martín actively participated in putting together the list.

We have frequent dialogue, I draw on his experience of so many years at the helm of Morón and he is an immediate reference in political terms of our space, together with Máximo Kirchner, with whom the dialogue is also very fluid on issues of politics and management.

It is important for me to share topics with them.
