Moscow-Sana

Today, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized the US intelligence report on the origin of the Corona virus, noting that such steps increase tensions in the international community and impede the development of a common approach to confronting infection with the virus.

Sputnik news agency quoted Zakharova as saying in a press statement today: “Russia previously called for avoiding politicizing the situation regarding the search for the origin of the causative agent of the emerging corona virus infection,” noting that her country considers it necessary to focus on finding ways to develop international cooperation to defeat the Corona epidemic. And not to use this global human tragedy to settle scores at the state level and manipulate public opinion.

In another context, Zakharova said: "The American companies Google and Apple ignore the requirements of the Russian legislation on blocking illegal content on the eve of the Russian elections."

Zakharova explained that requests that had already been sent to Google and Apple headquarters to block extremist resources and their online applications were ignored, adding: This "arrogant and selective" behavior is already acquiring an "unacceptable character" in light of the current electoral processes.

Zakharova denounced the cynical and indifferent relationship towards the rules of Russian legislation on the part of the mentioned American companies.

Elections to the Russian Duma are scheduled for later this month.
