Everyone has gotten a little greener

Forstinning - First of all, it's clear: Lisa-Marie Bötsch comes to the agreed meeting with the local newspaper in the beer garden of the sports restaurant (“Zum Elfer”) in Forstinning, of course, by bike. She (still) lives with her parents in Schwaberwegen, a few kilometers away, but for the 20-year-old that's not a distance that you would have to cover with a motorized vehicle.

Especially not when you seem to hold things like ecology, environmental protection and sustainability as deeply in your heart as the trained IT specialist.

It was the debate about a possible bypassing Schwaberweg, she says, that made her political almost two years ago.

Opponents of the project, which plans to clear trees in the forest in order to build a new road, sat in the hall.

The young woman recalls that there was heated debate for three hours.

And again and again people have said that you have to make sure that a breath of fresh air flows into the Forstinningen municipal council.

That advice that had almost unanimously spoken out in favor of the controversial bypass solution.

Fresh wind in the municipal council

The fresh wind seemed to the young visitor to be a correct and understandable requirement.

But at the same time the realization grew that one can be bad for or against something in order to do nothing afterwards except to complain.

Today, in retrospect, it can be said that the Forstinninger Greens were born in this overall context.

No one, according to Lisa-Marie Bötsch, believed at the time that the establishment of a local association would also involve moving into the local council from 2020.

But it was because the whole story happened at a time when Green seemed to be riding a wave of euphoria.

For Lisa-Marie Bötsch, however, a new, very special "problem" suddenly came up.

Because a woman always has to be first on the lists of the alliance greens, the then 19-year-old landed in the local elections - due to a lack of female supporters - straight away in first place.

And thus certainly in the new council.

This is all a thing of the past.

In the meantime, she says and smiles, she has even found pleasure in topics such as development plans etc .. But her greatest focus is on the local youth.

She even calls the “Culture Club”, the autonomous youth center in the basement of the athletes' home, her hobbyhorse.

Unfortunately, operations only started halfway again in June.

Corona said hello.

Culture Club as a hobbyhorse

In the first week of the holiday there was a well-attended evening at the cinema.

Many were not allowed to come because of the conditions.

A new edition is planned for Thursday, September 9th from 7.30 p.m.

Which film there will be is still a secret.

Whoever wants to participate should inquire on the homepage of “Mach mit”.

An open meeting also took place a good two weeks ago.

Something like a touch of normality has emerged, according to Lisa-Marie Bötsch, a native of Lower Franconia.

What she especially noticed after the party: The enormous gratitude of the other young people.

But she is also grateful to others.

For example Mathias Weigl, the contact person for the young Forstinninger in the town hall.

He always helped.

Also that Lisa-Marie Bötsch was able to perform her role as youth spokeswoman in the best possible way.

Take care of the youngsters on the street

Getting the Culture Club up and running as quickly as possible - that is now the declared major goal.

But also to deal more with the young people she calls the “street youth”.

Those who are not organized in the church, in sports or anywhere else in clubs and who like to meet in the playground or in the parking lot of the sports center.

And otherwise?

There are no specific political goals (yet), she says.

But is pleased that the Forstinningen municipal council has already become a bit greener than its predecessor.

And what is the initial conclusion after one and a half years in the Council?

It has shown, says the Schwaberwegenerin, that it is worthwhile to get involved in local politics even at a young age.

Even if it is connected with tasks that make additional work.

The website of the local Greens is currently on hold.

There were technical problems.

In the atmosphere of the local party, however, there is currently only one who can help: Lisa-Marie Bötsch, who now earns her money as a system administrator.
