Flood protection is always a big issue in Bad Heilbrunn.
In recent years there has been an increase in flood damage in the Loisachtal community.
The districts of Reindlschmiede, Mürnsee and Hohenbirken were often affected.
So the church made improvements now.
Bad Heilbrunn - Last year the area around the small chapel in Mürnsee was tackled.
This year the Reindlschmiede was improved.
“On the one hand, we built an elevation on the bank with the existing stones.
This way the stream has more space when it flows around the curve, ”explains Mayor Thomas Gründl (CSU) when asked by the Tölzer Kurier.
A hollow by the stream creates more space for water
For this purpose, a hollow was modeled approximately at the level of the parking lot at the “Reindlschmiede”.
“This also offers space for water to accumulate in heavy rain,” says Gründl.
The work on the Reindlbach had already been completed in early summer.
Since then there has been a flood situation in Heilbrunn.
“That showed us that the measures on the Reindlbach are working,” says Gründl with satisfaction.
“The increase was enough, and the Mulde has also done its job,” says the mayor.
There was only one disadvantage: "Unfortunately, the flood tore away everything that was freshly planted near the Mulde."
The next focus is on flood protection in Hohenbirken
As a next step in terms of flood protection, the district of Hohenbirken would now be on the municipality's plan, according to Gründl.
“There, too, there are a few areas that need to be improved,” he says.
From the community side, both dams and elevations as well as the shielding of the pump house in Hohenbirken are on the agenda.
The current plans for this are currently with the water management office in Weilheim.
"Our considerations are currently being checked there," explains the town hall chief.
When exactly the flood protection measures can be tackled, he cannot yet estimate at this point in time.
Gründl says: “That depends primarily on the results of the examination of the water management authority.
The community is currently just on hold. "
