The Hong Kong Government has earlier initiated a study on the design of a seaside city and built a seaside promenade on the north of Hong Kong Island.

Among them, the East Coast Park on Fortress Hill was opened on the 25th of this month. One of the main attractions will be a "check-in slot" in Victoria Harbour's English "VICTORIA HARBOUR" giant font.

The Harbour Office of the Development Bureau and the Waterfront Affairs Committee held two design competitions last year for the waterfront public furniture and the "Victoria Harbour" font art installation. A total of nearly 100 entries were received.

The authorities held an awards ceremony today (3rd). 20 works have been placed in Wan Chai North, Tai Kok Tsui and East Coast Park in Fortress Hill for the public to enjoy and watch.

The Chairman of the Waterfront Affairs Committee, Wu Yongshun, revealed that the winning works of the Victoria Harbour Mega Font Installation Design Competition are "being buried" and will be unveiled on the opening day of the park.

Wu Yongshun pointed out that the creative design of many award-winning waterfront public furniture works has made the Victoria Harbour waterfront a lot of beauty. In the past few months, he has experienced works as a "passerby" with committee members many times, and almost every work has been taken. It has also been observed that many citizens not only regard the relevant works as furniture, but also treat them as works of art. There are many interactions, "check in", and upload to Instagram.

He hopes that this competition will promote more creations, and make the seaside "different in sections and surprises everywhere."

He also pointed out that the waterfront is open to the public to enjoy with the "first communication, then optimization" plan, and then successively display art installations, "make one piece, put one piece first."

He described the move as a "limited time limit", giving citizens a sense of freshness every time they go to the beach.

The work is named "Hong Kong Light" inspired by traditional Chinese window frames and screen craftsmanship

Young architects Huang Pinghui and Lin Ximin won the Victoria Harbour font art installation design competition for their work "Hong Kong Lights".

Inspired by traditional Chinese window frames and screen craftsmanship, the two used hollow design to outline the English "VICTORIA HARBOUR" of Victoria Harbour, encouraging the public to enter the work.

Giant font-shaped art installations are bound to become "check-in spots." In the future, visitors can either sit or stand up and take photos on the letters, interacting and integrating with art.

The 15 bold English letters will also glow, reflecting the iconic lights of the Victoria Harbour night scene, and presenting different feelings under different weather conditions.

The entire "Light of Hong Kong" work is about 40 meters long and about 3 meters high. It is also clearly visible from the harbor. The work will be placed in the East Coast Park of Fortress Hill.

Wu Yongshun revealed that the park will be opened on the 25th of this month to further open up the waterfront of the Victoria Harbour, and the winning works will soon be completed. The lights have been tested last night. It is expected that the public will meet soon.

As for the waterfront public furniture design competition, 20 groups of works have come to the fore. They have been placed in the Hoi Fai Road Waterfront Gardens in Tai Kok Tsui, the "Ferry Pier Side Theme Area" adjacent to Wan Chai Ferry Pier, and the "Waterfront" which was transformed from the former Wan Chai cargo handling area. Sports and Recreation Theme Zone".

The works will be placed for at least one year. The authorities will decide whether to extend the placement period according to the public's response and the maintenance of the works.

Musical rhyme with melodious waterfront West Kowloon piano "Music Tricycle" interacts with the public on weekends and performs free performances on weekends. Belcher Bay, Western District, becomes a seaside shared experimental site. Giant waterbeds are set up to welcome the public in summer to increase the sense of belonging of the citizens. :Twice in the next month. The bicycle track on the Tsuen Wan waterfront section will open from tomorrow. It will be about 2.3 kilometers long. It is possible to build a footpath under the East Corridor of the Rambler Channel.
