With the construction of a 350 meter long cross connection, the enormous traffic load for the Habach district of Dürnhausen is to be reduced. And driveways could also be removed in Dürnhausen.

The local council has now clearly positioned itself on these plans.

Habach

- At the end of July, Andreas Lenker from the State Building Authority in Weilheim presented the

Habach

municipal councils with his authority's current plans for the construction of the cross connection from the Habach roundabout northwards towards Antdorfer Straße (we reported).

In addition to the construction of an approximately three-meter-high noise protection wall along the new route, it envisages the closure of the Habach entrance to the town from the direction of Antdorf. As the Mayor of Habach, Michael Strobl, explained at the latest municipal council meeting, the building authorities justified the closure of this area of Antdorfer Strasse with the increased risk of accidents that would arise at the confluence of this entrance to the new bypass. Since a speed limit of one hundred kilometers should be allowed on the new route and it will also make a strong right turn at the junction with Antdorfer Straße, turning left into the town would be too dangerous for road users from the direction of the roundabout, as Strobl recapitulated. Now it is necessary to inform the state building authority what the municipality thinks of these plans.

Strobl didn't hold back that that wasn't much for himself.

“I would like to keep the road,” he emphasized, referring above all to the farmers from the direction of Antdorf, who would otherwise have to take a detour of around two kilometers to manage their land in Habach.

Bichl cited as an example

But except for Klaus Sonner, none of the council members shared Strobl's view.

They all fear that motorists and motorcyclists would continue to drive through Habach even after the cross-section was built in order to drive towards Iffeldorf or Obersöchering - simply because it would be shorter than using the new cross-section to the B 472.

And even those who are unfamiliar with the area would continue to be guided through the town by their navigation system if the access route remained open.

Georg Greinwald also recalled that the planned noise protection wall would have to have a gap if Antdorfer Strasse were to be preserved.

"A historic opportunity for the village"

Josef Spensberger warned that it would not be possible to divert the traffic around the town with just one bypass.

Michael Leiß jun.

also fears that the confluence of the new route on Antdorfer Straße to Habach could become a hotspot for accidents due to the high noise protection wall.

This would make the street difficult to see.

Christian Baumgärtel also warned that this corner would be particularly dangerous for slow road users such as cyclists.

Mayor Strobl opposed this: If the Habach through-road is rededicated from a state road to a municipal road through the construction of the new route, then this would be "a historic opportunity for the village" to calm the traffic situation in the village.

Then you could, for example, introduce Tempo 30 in urban areas and put up barriers that would make the passage unattractive.

He also recalled that various lines had been laid under Antdorfer Strasse.

That is why the tar cover can be removed in the event of a demolition, but nothing should be changed at the heights.

In the end, the mayor could not prevail with his view.

With three votes against, the committee voted in favor of closing the access from Antdorfer Straße to Habach as part of the construction of the new cross-connection.

Authority must come up with a solution

And what happens to the three access roads to Dürnhausen after the cross-connection has been built?

“You could theoretically do all three,” said Strobl.

The aim must be to divert the daily through traffic towards Antdorf via the new route and thus achieve a traffic calming for the noise-plagued Dürnhauser.

The councils quickly agreed that it would be best to dismantle the eastern approach from the Sindelsdorf gravel works to a purely agricultural road for the farmers.

But the councils also see a problem in the junction from the B 472 to Dürnhausen. The State Building Authority had to come up with a solution here, demanded Strobl. Because turning onto and off the main road is risky. In addition, the existing underpass is much too narrow and too low for the agricultural vehicles.
