iPhone 13: what could Apple's new phone look like?

2021-09-03T14:50:22.355Z

The new generation of Apple's smartphone should be presented during the usual back-to-school keynote. Leaks from chi factories

In the home stretch before Apple's annual high mass scheduled for mid-September, rumors are increasingly taking shape thanks to indiscretions from subcontractors of the apple brand.

The successors of the iPhone 12 family could take the names of iPhone 13 or… iPhone 12S, an explicit sign that this flagship model is only evolving at the margins.

Here is a non-exhaustive summary of the supposed characteristics of the smartphone with the bitten apple which should be marketed at the end of September.

It will be quite logically available in 4 formats: iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Let's start with the outside of the device.

As before each smartphone launch, Android and iOS combined, Asian manufacturers of accessories (shells and protective glass) activate their networks in Chinese factories in order to have the most precise possible rendering of the final product.

Industrial objective: to create a mold so that their plastic accessories fit perfectly into the new phone.

Most are already on sale on the websites of props.

According to one of them, ESR Gear, the iPhone 13 will follow more or less the same contours as its predecessor.

We will find there in particular the wireless magnetic charging inaugurated on the iPhone 12. Contrary to persistent rumors, it is not this year that Apple will abandon the Lightning port in favor of a 100% wireless charging.

This accessories manufacturer has created a case that reveals the final rendering of the iPhone 13.

For the iPhone 13 screen, few changes also to be expected in the dimensions or the finish.

The two main manufacturers of OLED panels, Samsung Display and LG Display, still supply the screens from 5.5 to 6.7 inches.

But the good and big surprise could be the arrival of a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz with increased fluidity for the user.

Apple would then operate a serious and necessary catching up with its high-end Android competitors who made the transition from 2020. The Cupertino company would therefore have removed the main obstacle to this technology: increased battery consumption and a drop in l 'autonomy.

This advance would be accompanied by the arrival of the Always on Display mode, a screen saver that constantly indicates the time and the state of the battery, according to the specialized site 9to5Mac.

Faced with the problem of an ineffective Face ID with masks, Tim Cook's company could (finally) integrate a fingerprint reader - the Touch ID of the iPhone and predecessors - under the touchscreen.

Many competitors have been there for years.

Criticized and unchanged since the iPhone X, the notch at the top of the screen could well undergo a slimming cure but would not disappear on the iPhone 13 which will be optimized for iOS 15.

Some hardware updates

At the back, the camera and its two or three sensors would keep the same shape and the Mini and 13 versions could well benefit from the photo innovations that Apple had last year reserved for the Pro and Max versions.

Inside, the powerful A14 Bionic processor should logically see an update: the A15 Bionic, still engraved by the Taiwanese of TSMC.

More surprisingly, the new iPhone Max and Pro could make available to their owners a storage space of 1 TB while they have so far peaked at a comfortable 512 GB. Like the range of iPhone 12, the device will be compatible. with 5G networks.

Without proposing a real revolution, Apple should also maintain its prices and its marketing policy.

The first responses on the iPhone should fall within two weeks.

Overtaken in global sales by the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi, Apple will count on its new line-up to regain the ascendancy.
