The joy of seeing each other again and the pleasure of finally sitting together in a cozy atmosphere after a long lockdown shaped the meeting of successful Oberallgäu skiers from then and now in the Fischinger Heimathaus.

The meeting was organized by the speaker for the ski museum, Florian Ruppaner, and over a dozen successful alpinists accepted the invitation.

The “legends”, including medal winners at the Olympic Games and World Championships, were also happy that Alex Schmid, a young World Cup medalist (bronze in Cortina d Ámpezzo), was there in an equally young team discipline.

The 1966 World Cup medalist from Oberstdorf, Franz Vogler, had a number of items with him from his active days as a ski racer, as did slalom skier Anette Gersch (Burgberg) and Karin Dedler-Feigele (bronze medalist in 1989).

Germany's only downhill world champion to date, Hansjörg Tauscher, praised the design and the voluntary commitment behind it on a tour of the ski museum.

In 2005 the ski museum in Fischen became one of the 30 ski museums worldwide with an FIS rating.

The initiator at that time was Christian Knauth.

The former head of marketing and communications at the FIS World Association had also come to Fischinger Heimathaus with his wife Pamela Behr-Knauth (World Cup silver in 1978).

Unlike Frank Wörndl, who is still right in the middle of the alpine skiing circus as a commentator, most of the ski legends now report with aloof and calm about their successes, but also like to remember many exciting encounters and anecdotes from the old days.

A nice appointment that museum directors Georg Larsch and Florian Ruppaner would like to repeat from time to time.
