Syria: "Israeli attack will have dangerous consequences" Israel today

The Foreign Ministry in Damascus has issued an appeal to the UN Security Council and condemned the Israeli attack, which it claims is near the capital Damascus

The Syrian Foreign Ministry today (Friday) sent a letter to the UN Security Council and to its president condemning the attack he attributes to Israel, an attack that took place early in the morning near the capital Damascus.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry sent a threatening letter to Israel: "Syria again warns Israel of the dangerous consequences of its attacks, which are carried out under false allegations unrelated to reality, and of continued aid to terrorists within Syria as well as the occupation of Arab lands and the suppression of Arab legitimate aspirations."

"Israel's cowardly attack is the latest in a series of violations and crimes committed by Israel against Syria and its people, especially with regard to continued Israeli assistance to terrorists and its ministers, in order to prevent a political settlement of the crisis in Syria," the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

This is a fairly standard message linking the attack to Israel and is added to a series of threats in a harsh Syrian response to the continuation of the attacks attributed to Israel on its territory.

In the early morning hours, Syrian media reported a series of airstrikes near the capital Damascus.

The local news agency SANA reported that the air defense system was activated and managed to intercept some of the missiles. One of the Syrian anti-aircraft missiles, according to an IDF report, exploded over the central area and some of its remains fell there.

The Syrian Center for Human Rights, an organization based in London and affiliated with the opposition, reported that the facility damaged a weapons production facility that Iran had set up in Syrian territory to supply advanced weapons to the terrorist organization Hezbollah and pro-Iranian militias in Syria.
