The district thanks volunteer card holders with an experience day at the “Outward Bound” in Schwangau

District - As an appreciation for their commitment, District Administrator Maria Rita Zinnecker invited the younger holders of the volunteer card to an experience day.

With an accompanying person, the committed people up to 45 years of age set off for an adventure day at the “Outward Bound” adventure education center in Schwangau.

Here they could choose between activities such as a summit hike and climbing in the high ropes course.

The hiking group began their tour equipped with umbrellas and jackets - but had fun on the tour despite the temporary rain.

As a reward, the weather soon cleared up.

The climbing group went to lofty heights in the in-house climbing garden.

After the activities, the guests let the adventure day end together with a warm dinner.

“The campaigns with Outward Bound for the younger volunteer cardholders should bring joy, the courage to go beyond their own limits and encourage trust in their own abilities,” explained District Administrator Maria Rita Zinnecker (CSU).

The volunteer card was sent to 500 volunteers in 2021

The Ostallgäu volunteer card was awarded to around 500 volunteers for the fifth time in April 2021.

With the card, the district, together with the 45 municipalities, thanks the volunteers for their commitment to society.

This year the card offers 34 free experiences, such as admission to the castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein as well as to mountain railways, museums and various leisure facilities in the district.

The theater cinema “Filmburg” in Marktoberdorf, as well as the show dairy and brewery “Walder Käskuche” are new to this year.

In addition to the services mentioned, the holders of the volunteer card are invited to special events such as the “Outward Bound” experience day with an accompanying person, as far as the applicable Corona rules allow.

The special events are intended to create a communal experience among like-minded people and promote exchange among volunteers.
