Former Mayor Josef Brückl was visiting the community of Langenbach - and very pleased with the location.

Langenbach

- Distinguished visitors in the town hall: Recently the former mayor Josef Brückl stopped by on a summer flying visit, much to the delight of the administration: the passionate beekeeper brought honey over.

Of course, her successor Susanne Hoyer also received a glass of the healthy natural product.

"One can be proud of a community like this"

Speaking of healthy: The 76-year-old Brückl was impressed by the positive development of the community.

"I am pleased that Langenbach is doing so well that everything has developed well," he said with conviction.

He was alluding to the finances, but also to the local industry.

“One can be proud of a community like this,” said Brückl.

Hoyer returned the compliment to the extent that it was not least thanks to Brückl's foresight and zest for action that Langenbach had taken such a sustainable positive development.

As examples, she cited the flood protection and retention basins in the village, which would have prevented worse things from happening again in the recent heavy rain.

Josef Brückl is clearly doing well.

After he left, he and his wife Walburga bought a house in Graefelfing and converted it according to his ideas.

It is conveniently located in the immediate vicinity of his son Markus and the grandchildren.

“Bua goes to kindergarten and Deandl goes to first grade,” revealed the proud grandpa.

It is a fulfillment when the grandchildren come to see their grandparents, so Brückl.

Beekeepers, fishermen and hunters in "retirement"

One can imagine that he won't get bored. On top of that, someone like Brückl doesn’t give any peace even in the “discharge”. "I still have six bee colonies in Oberschleissheim, I joined the local fishing club and go hunting," said the senior about his elaborate hobbies. "I'm almost running out of time," he stated with a wink. After all, the sprightly pensioner is not only useful in the house, but also in the garden. Mind you, not only in his own but also in that of his son.

A bit of sadness still resonates when Brückl thinks of Langenbach.

"My heart beats faster every time," he confessed.

Since his departure in 2018, the former mayor has definitely been to the beloved community a dozen times: at club meetings or when there was something to celebrate at the volunteer fire brigade.

“I like going to Langenbach,” said Josef Brückl.

Even if it means an hour there and an hour back every time.
