It's hard to say that anyone was really surprised last night (Wednesday) with the announcement of Tamir Greenberg as the winner of "The Next Star", and yet, after a season with a host of performances that would not embarrass a future Vegas show a few years from now, Greenberg won a title and a million shekels to develop his musical career.
Just like throughout the entire season, the reactions to Greenberg (26)'s win were mixed.
On the one hand, thousands who applauded his vocal abilities and the insane show he gave every time he took the stage, and on the other hand those who claimed that the competition was addictive, that Greenberg could not win the title of "Israel's next star" when he did not sing a word in Hebrew. (Valerie Butter, Matan Levy and Shai Hambar), to open up their musical careers.
"He's huge, especially tonight. He had a crazy mix of Elton John, George Michael, Prince and Bruce Springsteen," spilled hundreds of surfers who categorized Greenberg as a superstar on a scale few of them have seen in the country.
"What a huge artist," added dozens of others in the many posts that flooded the network in the hours after he won.

Along with the huge paragon, other voices were heard, especially those who were outraged by the fact that Greenberg broadcast fragrances from abroad throughout the season when it comes to a competition that is supposed to give a stage to Hebrew-sung music. "But Bhai. The show is looking for the next star of * Israel *, and in the meantime it seems that if you do not sing songs in English and you have no chance of being an 'international singer', then you also have no chance of winning," it said angrily.
"Shai and Matan are the only ones who sang songs in Hebrew throughout the season, paid homage to Israeli music and did not change the lyrics to a foreign language. We have a small country with a lot of talent and products that can come out, why always try to copy and not be proud and faithful to the source and language ?!" Written in another response.
It was also written: "It is difficult for him to sing in Hebrew, it is difficult for him to connect two words in Hebrew to a sentence, it is difficult to prepare two thank you sentences in advance. Very talented, but a strange chicken."
Another surfer added: "People, but he does not sing in Hebrew !!! He will take the million to make a career abroad."
On the other hand, there were also those who sought to calm the spirits and the incessant preoccupation with the fact that Greenberg chose to appear only in English.
"Stop being obsessed with the obsession with songs in Hebrew. After all, most of the day you listen to songs in English. Most radio stations play 70% foreign music and almost all the rest are oriental music," it was written.
