Erding - There will be an amusement park with many rides, stalls and beer garden area from September 17th to October 3rd on the Erdinger Volksfestplatz.

Amusement park instead of folk festival: From September 17 to October 3, the folk festival square will celebrate “Autumn in Erding”, a 17-day event for the whole family with lots of rides, play and food stalls and a beer garden, which the showmen Tobias Martl and Stefan Organize Stey.

The two have been planning the construction work for months.

The district office has already given the go-ahead orally.

Ferris wheel, Top Spin, Wilde Maus, bumper cars, breakdance, Voodoo Jumper, Hawaii Swing, wave flyers and a lot more: The Erdingers can enjoy rides that are otherwise only known from autumn or Oktoberfest in the second half of September, Monday through Fridays from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

There is also a separate beer garden with a good 500 seats in the center of the square.

In this area, the contact details of the visitors must be collected.

The 3G rule applies to the entire site, so only vaccinated, convalescent and tested people have access.

“We want to show that you can do something like this under certain conditions,” says Martl and, as a showman, is happy for himself and his colleagues, “that we can go back to our work.

That's our life".

The showmen in particular suffered from the corona pandemic and have not been able to work since spring 2020. Martl, like his colleague Stey, comes from Munich. In Erding, however, it is well known and has been represented at many festivals for decades with its chocolate fruits, almonds and gingerbread hearts. The 35-year-old had already helped organize the three drive-ins - spring festival, autumn festival and Christmas market - on the Volksfestplatz last year.

Showmen from Erding are also represented at “Herbst in Erding” - for example Peter Lingnau (“Fisch Bäda”), Paul Diebold and the Rilke family as well as the BRK district association with its lucky harbor. “Those who wanted are there,” says Martl and hopes that the citizens will also accept the event. To finance the high costs caused by the corona requirements and the hygiene package, entry to the amusement park costs one euro. Aside from sweets such as chocolate fruits and crepes, there are also langoustines, sausages, pizza, burgers, French fries, fish and pastries, announced Martl.

The Landratsamt Erding confirms that there is a protection and hygiene concept for the fairground and for the individual attractions.

Accordingly, the rides and booths are located in a ring around the center.

The Ferris wheel, for example, is to be set up where the foundation tent would otherwise be, says Martl.

The large entrance area is opposite the ice rink, security staff will control the 3G rules.

The district office is currently examining which simplifications are still possible due to the new Bavarian Infection Protection Ordinance, which has just come into force, said Daniela Fritzen, spokeswoman for the authorities.

"In principle, however, both the beer garden and the amusement park are permitted within the framework of the legal requirements."
