Eichenau - Mayor Peter Münster (FDP) admitted that air filter rental devices have become a significant cost factor.
In addition, the ventilation systems are expected to be installed in March or April.
Until then, you would have to reckon with at least around 30,000 euros in rent if you took advantage of the offer.
The municipality is therefore very interested in shortening the rental period.
As Münster explained, one could observe 14-day weather forecasts and thus cold weather phases.
A deadline that could be enough to get rental equipment.
"Two providers have assured that they can deliver within seven days," said Münster when asked by the daily newspaper.
However, you have to expect a significant four-digit amount even with shorter rental periods per month.
So far mainly basement rooms
So far, the Starzelbach School has been equipped with air filters for basement rooms in particular: “You can't ventilate there,” explains Münster.
According to the current status, you actually have to make do with ventilation in the 20 or so classrooms.
At least the Starzelbach School is fully equipped with so-called CO2 traffic lights that indicate when it is appropriate to ventilate.
According to the mayor, the municipality has calculated that the permanently installed room fans will cost between 450,000 and 500,000 euros.
However, one could take advantage of a federal funding program that is still running this year.
Under certain conditions, a subsidy of up to 80 percent is possible.
To do this, for example, you have to install the system in technically different components.
Ultimately, it is urgent for the parents at the primary school that lessons can take place in presence despite Corona, said Münster. He found out in a conversation with the chairman of the parents' council.
