The Electrical Transformers Maintenance and Installation Department in Hama Electricity Company rehabilitated 22 electrical transformers during the first eight months of this year, repaired 50 other transformers of different capacities, and then returned them to service.

The head of the department, Engineer Fawaz Ibrahim, told SANA reporter that the workers of the department, which consisted of 5 engineers and technicians, were able to take advantage of the parts that are in good condition in the transformers that went out of service and install them in other transformers, in addition to maintaining tension cables, fuses and bars, relying on simple tools.

Ibrahim pointed out that the workers also succeeded in rehabilitating 22 transformers from the beginning of this year until the end of last August, and they were put into service, especially in the rural areas of the northern, southern and eastern governorates, where the electrical system was damaged by terrorism, in addition to repairing and maintaining 50 electrical transformers with capacities between 25, 50 and 100. And 200 and 1000 kVA were put into service, which saved the company hundreds of millions of pounds in the event of purchasing new spare parts for these transformers.

For his part, the company’s general manager, Ahmed Walid Al-Youssef, indicated that the technical workshops have replaced, since the beginning of this year and until the end of last August, 76 transformers with transformers with greater capacities in order to improve the investment of the electrical network, as well as the installation of 76 other transformers for electrical transfer centers and the replacement of 50 transformers that were damaged as a result of the increased consumption of electric current. .

Al-Yousef pointed out that these works fall within the company's plan to keep pace with the increased demand for energy, lighten the loads on other transformation centers, and solve the problems of frequent power cuts.
