Today, the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, in cooperation with the governorate of Damascus, honored more than 160 families of martyrs’ families, as part of the activities of the “Al-Ailah Market” located on the land of the old exhibition city in Damascus.

In a statement to the media, the head of the Damascus and its countryside Chamber of Industry, Samer Al-Dibs, confirmed that this honor is less than the duty towards the families of these heroes who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland in order for its sons to remain safe.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Damascus and Rural Chamber of Industry Talal Qala Ji indicated that the honorees today, numbering 160 families of the martyrs’ families, are a first batch, as it is scheduled to honor 2000 families and a number of the wounded in batches during the days of the event, indicating that the honoring included the distribution of purchase vouchers for all types of materials and goods from Family market or get the value of the vouchers in cash.

For his part, Basil Mihoub, a member of the Executive Office in Damascus Governorate for the Social Affairs and Labor Sector, said that the honor is never equal to the amount of sacrifices made by the families of the martyrs and their children, "indicating that the event aims to support these families in conjunction with the opening of schools."

The Family Market initiative, which was launched on the 28th of last month in various governorates, aims to provide markets for the sale of school supplies at a price close to the cost, alleviating the difficult living pressures of Syrian families and contributing to meeting an important part of the needs of these families with the approaching school season.
