Only four days have passed since the start of the school year, and today (Sunday) there is already an increase in the number of students vaccinated against the virus as well as in the number of isolated students.

At present, 113,743 students have not attended school and kindergartens, of whom 42,520 are active patients and another 71,223 are in isolation.

This is a significant increase in a short time: at the end of August, the number of verified and isolated students was "only" 90.8 thousand, in the education system alone.

Part of the increase is related to the fact that the rapid corona tests performed on 30 and 31 August changed the picture.

According to data from the Ministry of Education, during the tests, about 8,000 verified people were found who did not come to the education system, but did manage to meet with their friends in the last days of the big holiday, for example in preparation for first grades, municipal kindergartens and various social gatherings.

As a result, 42,000 students have gone into solitary confinement in the past week since school began.

Many parents are updated on data from the Ministry of Health, but even without doing so, they already feel that the number of isolated children is increasing every day.

In some localities, the occupancy of students in the classrooms was only two-thirds.

The streets also announced this morning the closure of 20 kindergartens out of 350 in the city.

Isolating the children forces the parents to follow a new routine: the parents feel unprepared and helpless in the face of the lack of framework for the children.

The parents are angry that the family holiday meals will be held without them, and some have even said that "the writing was on the wall".

"It's the most frustrating thing in the world. We'll not meet my dad on holiday." Gazal Cohen (Photo: Courtesy of the photographers)

Einat Gazel Cohen from Tel Aviv, mother of a third-grade student, told Walla! "On Wednesday we started studying and on Friday morning we went out in isolation following a verified girl who was located in the classroom. I became nervous, because we brought the children to class but 10 minutes later we received messages to come and pick them up. "It annoys me especially that it's something that was expected in advance, that they would take our holidays. I believed that the opening of the school year had to be postponed to October 1 so that at least this year we could do the holidays properly."

In terms of study material, Gazel Cohen's daughter will not have to complete much. Her days of isolation are during the holidays, when her classmates go on vacation anyway, but even this fact does not comfort her. "It's the most frustrating in the world. We were supposed to meet my dad on holiday, but we will not do it. We will do the holiday at home just the three of us, in a small group," she said.

'It's good that the year started on time.

A system of life must be built near Corona. '

On the other hand, Ahaz Agam from Tel Aviv, the father of a seventh-grade student, treated with understanding the isolations imposed on the family members.

Despite the frustration he is convinced that the school year was supposed to open on time, as it was on September 1st.

Agam testified that "my son started the year when he was corona sick, and last Friday was supposed to go back to school, but then we were informed that his entire class had gone into isolation because of a verified student, so he did not return at the end."

Lake said his son started school this year remotely, in Zoom.

"It's annoying, but I do feel I should have started the year. There's nothing to do," Agam said, adding that "if we started now then we would have the same thing in November. It will already be winter. No one can guarantee that October will be less sick. "Because we need to build a system of life near Corona."

"You can not say every time that 'it's not appropriate.' I was vaccinated three times and became infected with my son, there is protection against serious illness here, "he concluded.

Give up camping and visiting extended family due to isolation.

Noa Pascal Golan is the mother of a one-year-old baby who went into isolation on her second day in kindergarten.

This, following the exposure of her daughter to a verified patient during the period of adjustment to stay in kindergarten.

Pascal Golan testified that "I am worried that my daughter is missing the adjustment period when a new kindergarten has just started. We arrived for two days and then they stopped it."

The young mother testified that the isolation also obscures the constraints that the whole family is forced to perform during the Rosh Hashanah period.

"We miss the holidays, it really sucks. We were supposed to be with my husband's family. We'll stay in isolation, we'll just be the three of us. We thought of going camping in the desert so as not to be home for nothing. "The school year opens on October 1. I don't want to be in a secluded house on holidays, and I don't know what will happen later in the holidays, it really sucks," she concluded.
