As-Suwayda.. The opening of the first school for interactive distance learning in Syria

Today, in As-Suwayda Governorate, the “Syria Al-Mustaqbal” school for interactive distance learning was opened as the first school licensed by the Ministry of Education in this field.

The school, which is located on Masad Road, southeast of the city of As-Suwayda, represents, as its director, Mamoun Daou, told SANA reporter, a national project aimed at facilitating the completion of educational attainment by the sons of the country wherever they are inside and outside Syria, in accordance with the curriculum of the Syrian Ministry of Education and in accordance with international standards for interactive education, subject to the terms and conditions of public education and its regulations. He stressed that it came in response to the demands of students and parents inside and outside Syria who wish to pursue their educational attainment according to the Syrian curriculum.

He also pointed out that the school launched in its first phase this year with secondary education classes to accommodate 30 students in each class, with the expansion of the next year in the levels of basic education, as well as the possibility of expanding the number of accepted students who can be accommodated under the supervision of a trained and distinguished educational staff and with the support of a team of technicians, specialists and experts in this field.

The head of the educational technology department at the school, Dr. Hassan Abu Faour, pointed out that the school constitutes an integrated educational institution specialized in interactive education and distance training, pointing out that it is equipped with the latest technologies and equipment of global educational technology, on which the educational staff has been trained, including the use of educational platforms and the preparation of educational content and what is available Distance education consists of multiple teaching strategies, educational resources, virtual laboratories, and digital simulators for everything a student learns.

The director of Suwayda Education, Bassam Abu Mahmoud, indicated that the school represents a new and pioneering experience for interactive distance learning in Syria, and its idea was welcomed by the educational authorities after reviewing its data, studying and modifying some of them until it was established as it is today and obtained a temporary license for a year under the supervision of the Directorate of Education to be completed after It evaluates the results for final approval.

He pointed out that there is an upcoming experience in other schools as well, which we hope will succeed, because the conditions we have been through, especially the Corona pandemic, have proven the need for virtual education and the possibility for students to follow their lessons at home, as well as those abroad to follow their educational attainment according to the Syrian curriculum, in a way that enhances their belonging to their homeland. .
