A resident of East Jerusalem, in his 50s, was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of committing serious sexual offenses with his minor granddaughter.
The arrest came following a complaint filed several weeks ago.
His detention was extended in court until Thursday in favor of further investigation.
"He used to hug and kiss his students"
The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office (Criminal) today (Sunday) filed an indictment in the city Magistrate's Court against Mordechai Cohen, a driving instructor from Ma'ale Adumim, for indecent acts he committed on six of his students during driving lessons.
According to the indictment, Cohen, 52, used to hug and kiss his students during driving lessons.
In two cases, the defendant used the caresses and hugs to touch the students' breasts.
Defendant took this opportunity to have a sexual interaction with the students, some of them minors, hugged them tightly and gave them a kiss on the cheek.
In one case, he even kissed a student on the corner of her mouth.
The defendant put his hands on the hands, feet, and faces of the students and stroked them, demanding that they kiss and hug him.
The prosecution is asking the court to order the arrest of the defendant until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
