For the first time since taking office: Lapid will fly on a diplomatic visit to Moscow and meet with Russian Foreign Minister
A statement from the Foreign Ministry said that Lapid would take off at the end of the holiday for a brief diplomatic visit to Russia, where he would meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.
Lapid is expected to return to Israel the day after the meeting

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will fly on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, to pay a diplomatic visit to Russia, and will hold a working meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, the Foreign Ministry said today (Sunday).
This will be the first meeting between them since Lapid took office.
Minister Lapid will take off at the end of the holiday in Moscow and return the next day.
In August, Lapid flew to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, to inaugurate the Israeli mission in the country.
This was the Israeli Foreign Minister's first official visit to the country in more than 20 years.
After landing, Lapid met with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Burita.

Last week, Lapid met with Bahrain's first ambassador to Israel, Khaled Yusuf al - Jalahma, who presented him with a copy of his charter as ambassador to Israel.
Lapid congratulated the ambassador on the arrival and the expected opening of the Bahraini embassy in Israel, and the two discussed strengthening ties between the countries and the peoples.
At a meeting in the Knesset, Lapid said he hoped to visit Bahrain soon and inaugurate the Israeli embassy in the capital, Manama.
