The prosecution filed today (Sunday) in the Haifa District Court an amended indictment against Roman Zadorov, for the murder of the girl Tair Rada at a school in Katzrin in 2006, as part of the retrial against him, a week and a half after he was released under house arrest.

The amended indictment attributes to him offenses of premeditated murder, as in the original indictment, as well as aggravated murder, in accordance with the reform of the deadly offenses and according to the wording of the new law, as the acts were allegedly committed on a child under 14 and the state claims "special cruelty".

Zadorov is also charged with obstruction of justice.

The facts of the indictment have been amended to suit the reform of the deadly offenses. The list of prosecution witnesses was also amended so that 13 witnesses were added to it, following investigative materials collected during the appeal and retrial phase and following the investigative actions carried out since then.

According to the indictment, Zadorov followed Rada to the bathroom, where he slit her throat with a Japanese knife in his possession. He then locked the cell from the inside, left the girl sprawled on the toilet seat, stepped on her body and climbed on it to jump out, over the sides of the cell.

"Zdorov escaped from the girls 'bathroom on the second floor, entered the boys' bathroom on the first floor, washed the knife and cleaned the blood of the deceased," the indictment reads. "Later, he returned to the shelter, changed his clothes and continued working until the end of the work day."

The indictment further states that "after the murder, Zdorov broke the blade of the knife used to injure Rada, and replaced it with a new blade. Zdorov removed the blade as well as the pants he was wearing at the time of the murder, in order to prevent or thwart the investigation against him."

Since then, he has been staying at his wife's parents' house under electronic restraint.

Upon his release from prison, Zadorov said that "there is only one truth, everything will be fine."

A few days later, his wife posted a video in which Zadorov said that now he intends to prove his innocence.
