The VHS Peiting starts with the start of school in the autumn semester 2021. Head Sabine Hickisch hopes that most of the courses can be held face-to-face.

- The registrations for the new courses at the adult education center (VHS) Peiting are already going well.
"I have the feeling that people have been looking forward to being able to do something again," says VHS director Sabine Hickisch.
Shortly after school starts on September 16, the first courses of the new semester begin.
The offer is again wide-ranging. New to the program is, for example, the course “In abundance - autumn harvest time in the self-sufficient garden”. In Rottenbuch, the participants get a lot of tips and are shown very clearly how different types of fruit and vegetables are grown and harvested, explains Hickisch. In the Corona period in particular, many people found their way to gardening.
In cooperation with “Asyl im Oberland”, all adult education centers in the district offer, for example, training for integration guides.
The adult education centers in Weilheim, Penzberg and Peißenberg as well as Peiting and Schongau have founded a network, exchange information regularly and offer courses across locations.
"Otherwise it is sometimes difficult to get enough participants together on special topics," explains Hickisch.
It is easier across the district.
In addition, citizens have a greater choice and can switch to other locations if the times are unsuitable or the courses are fully booked.

VHS Peiting: Language and health courses always popular
The language courses at the VHS are tried and tested. “Some groups have been learning together for years, and every now and then new people join in,” says Hickisch. Because no language courses could take place in the past few months due to the Corona, the advanced courses should start with repetitions and adapt to the level of performance of the participants. If you would like to learn Spanish, you can do so from October at the VHS Peiting. Then a beginners course starts, the participants do not need any previous knowledge.
Health courses are also always popular, says Hickisch.
The yoga courses are already fully booked.
"We can possibly expand the offer with additional rooms," says Hickisch.
In general, if you are interested in a course that is already fully booked, you should still contact VHS Peiting, says Hickisch.
There you have waiting lists for successors - or, if there are enough people on the list to organize additional courses on the topic, the lecturer should also be available.
In addition to cooking courses, there are also several children's and leisure courses on the program.
From goldsmithing to sailing and golfing, those interested can try out a lot.
VHS Peiting: 3G scheme and online offers
Now the VHS Peiting is hoping that all courses can take place again as planned. Namely in presence. However, “in an emergency”, more live streams are made available in cooperation with “VHS Wissen Live”, explains Hickisch. IT courses will also be offered online in autumn: from “Zoom: Video conferencing for beginners” to “Image processing” and “Selling online”.
There would always be new rules.
At the moment, VHS Peiting is assuming that the 3G rule will also apply to all VHS courses.
The corresponding message has only just been received from the umbrella organization.
Participants must therefore show proof that they have been vaccinated, recovered or tested.
"It would be important that the participants bring their vaccination card or a certificate with them at the beginning of the course," says Hickisch.
Otherwise they would have to be sent home despite registration.
