Actor Michael K. Williams, best known for his role as Omar Little on HBO's "The Wire," has passed away.
He was 54 years old.
Williams was found dead in his New York City apartment, an agent told CNN.
Investigators found drug paraphernalia near his body, the official said.
CNN reached out to representatives for Williams for comment.

Williams, a native of New York City, recently appeared on HBO's "Lovecraft Country" and the series "F Is for Family."
He played Chalky White in four seasons of the prohibition-era drama "Boardwalk Empire."

He was slated to co-star in George Tillman Jr.'s Sony George Foreman biopic.
Williams received several accolades during her career, including five Emmy nominations.
The first was in 2015 for her role in "Bessie" and another followed two years later for her role in "The Night Of."
