The Indian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 38,948 new infections with the Corona virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total infections in the country to more than 32.9 million.
The ministry stated in a statement today that the total deaths amounted to 440,762 after 219 new deaths were recorded.
And India recorded the highest rate of daily infections with the virus in two months, amounting to 47,092 cases last Thursday.
India ranks second in the world in terms of the number of corona infections after the United States of America and the third in terms of corona deaths after the United States and Brazil.
