Homs, SANA- Twenty-five artworks made of Palmyra stone decorated the Al-Fawwar Spring Square at the end of the Hajj sculpting gatherings

Twenty-five works of art from Palmyra stone decorated Nabaa Al-Fawwar Square at the end of the stone sculpture and oil painting gatherings in the village of Al-Mashtaya, with the participation of 18 sculptors and painters who came from different governorates to spread the culture of art and beauty amid the nature of the charming villages of Wadi Al-Nadari in the countryside of Homs.

The two forums were organized by the Ministries of Culture and Tourism in cooperation with Homs Governorate over a period of ten days within the activities of the Citadel and Wadi Festival. The Director of Fine Arts at the Ministry of Culture, Imad Kashout, spoke about them in a statement to SANA that they included the participation of 11 sculptors and 7 artists in oil painting. Within 10 days, the artworks that will decorate The villages and squares of the valley according to the vision and experience of each artist with the aim of spreading the visual culture “art and beauty” in Syria.

And about his works, Kashout said that he presented 3 basalt sculptures that reflect portraits of faces from his cultural memory of the Syrian civilization spanning thousands of years.

The artist Iyad Al-Balal presented a sculpture in continuation of his artistic research related to the dreamy human faces, entitled “Love in a Time of War”, while the faces harmonized in a sculpture from the expressive school of the artist Emile Farha, which bore the name “States” so that each face expresses a different emotional state experienced by the recipient.

From Quneitra, the artist Ziad Qat participated in a sculpture that embodied the human element affected by the picturesque nature of the valley and the warm hearts of its people. The artist, Qusai Al-Naqri, paved his sculpture “Dice Stone” for the Cubist School, adding numbers to his sculpture to bear a signification that gives an energy of goodness that pervades the place, so he chose two elements.. The first is a cube without a number and the second bears Figures have symbolism in the culture of the ancient East.

The artist Yousra Muhammad from Masyaf chose the relationship of love in all its forms as the highest human relations to be the subject of her sculpture, while the artist Osama Amasha from As-Suwayda drew the subject of his sculptural work from the inspiration of Syrian mythology and civilization, an extension of Aramaic. The artist, Maysoon Habl, from the Wadi Al-Nadari region, chose the name “Dream” to call her work an allusion to the state of liberation expressed by the Fawar spring when he breaks the restrictions and emerges as an explosive rebellion.

In the sculpture “Creation,” the artist, Gandhi Khader, who came from Hama, sought to provoke the recipient and push him to search for details in a work that tends towards symbolic abstraction by creating a dialogue between the artwork and the recipient.

In the Al-Fawwar Spring Square in Zweitina, seven artists from Homs presented 14 oil paintings on a canvas floor that dealt with various topics, most of which were inspired by the nature of the charming place and its captivating details.

The plastic artist, Salam Ahmed, indicated that she participated in two oil paintings, which are rural architectural formations with the mountain and slopes, in an expressive way, through which she transformed the realistic form into an expressive form of the character of the painter.

The plastic artist, Reem Al-Ali, participated in oil paintings that talk about love, joy, waiting for the female and escaping from time, through which she expressed the female personality and its interaction with life, and reflected the state of calm and tranquility that the place gave her, which was manifested in the way of drawing and colors.

In turn, the plastic artist, Mohamed Tayeb Hamam, merged reality with imagination in two paintings that tell about the beauty of the region and symbolize serenity, calmness and spirituality, as he explained that the forum brought together several generations and provided the opportunity to benefit from the experiences of great artists.

The plastic artist, Iman Al-Hassan, singled out her suggestive style through two oil paintings, one of which is a female erupting from the womb of the earth and emitting perfume and tenderness to indicate the transparency and strength of the female. In the performance of the artists and broadcast a state of comfort and contemplation in them.

The plastic artist Moufida Al-Dyoub explained that it is her first participation in this area, which is a rich and enjoyable experience, and she talked about her paintings in which she used the expressive method to embody a woman in a state of waiting and anticipation and a landscape inspired by an old building in the village.

The plastic artist Maysa Ali used the impressionist style in her paintings to express her sense of place and the interaction of plants and trees with windows, people, green nature and buildings.

The plastic artist Nour Khoury from the people of the region participated in a realistic and expressive painting representing the character of “Farid”, a person from the people of the region and known to all the people for many years due to his special condition and his inability to walk.
