Kaufering / Rome - Visit to the Pope: The Augsburg Bishop Dr.
Bertram Meier from Kaufering came to Rome for the inaugural visit to Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso.
And then was allowed to take a seat with Pope Francis.
Bishop Bertram is also the chairman of the sub-commission for the interreligious dialogue of the German Bishops' Conference. Today he paid an inaugural visit to the President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso MCCJ, in Rome. Both agreed that "in dialogue with other religions the church sees itself as a companion in the search for the truth," says Nicolas Schnall, spokesman for the Augsburg Episcopal Ordinariate.
Bishop Bertram also received an audience with Pope Francis. The Kauferinger was happy about "the fraternal exchange", said Schnall. The conversation was about the desire for "mutual enrichment between the local churches and the universal Church and the concern of spiritual renewal". And last but not least, it is about “putting unity above conflicts”.
