Sauerlach - A man from Munich (60) went off the road on Sunday with his car on the A8 near Sauerlach.
Police and fire brigade were on duty.
On Sunday (September 5th), around 8 a.m., the operations center of the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria-South was informed of an accident on the A8 motorway in the direction of Munich.
"A car is said to have rolled over and come to a stop on the central barrier," reports the Holzkirchen motorway police station.
As a result, a patrol from the Holzkirchen motorway police station, the Hofolding volunteer fire department and other rescue workers and auxiliary workers set off for the accident site.
A 60-year-old Croat living in Munich drove his Daimler Benz GLK 220 on the A8 in the direction of Munich.
For a previously unknown cause, he turned right off the lane, overturned so that he drove right onto the beginning guardrail, then hurled over the three lanes and hit the middle guardrail, where he then came to a stop in the opposite direction to the direction of travel.
"A random patrol from the Munich police headquarters initially secured the scene of the accident," explains the Holzkirchen autobahn police.
"The 60-year-old Croatian injured his hand slightly and was taken to a Munich hospital as a precaution by the rescue service."
Due to the initial report, a rescue helicopter was also used, which is why the motorway at the accident site had to be completely closed for a short time.
It was therefore backed up over a length of about four kilometers.
The left and middle lanes were closed for accident recording.
The Hofolding volunteer fire brigade secured the scene of the accident and took care of leaking operating materials.
The Holzkirchen motorway maintenance authority finally secured the scene of the accident for the recovery of the vehicle.
Total write-off occurred on the vehicle involved in the accident. It was recovered by a towing service from Holzkirchen. According to the police, the accident damage is around 100,000 euros.
