The British government updated its travel advice on Hong Kong on Monday (6th) local time. The official website issued a warning in the "safety and security" section of the Hong Kong travel advice, stating that Hong Kong’s national security law covers both inside and outside Hong Kong. Including acts in the UK, the Chinese authorities can detain and interrogate suspects in accordance with regulations.
The website also mentioned that the "Immigration (Amendment) Bill 2020" that came into effect on August 1 could prevent passengers from leaving Hong Kong, but that the Hong Kong government promised not to use the relevant power.
