The Münsing base fire brigade is challenged often and intensively - for example in the event of accidents on the autobahn.

A state-of-the-art tool shed is simply part of it.

Münsing

- At the end of August, the Münsingen base fire brigade had to deploy three times in one day to accidents on the A95 that had occurred due to heavy rain.

In order to be so on your toes, you not only need committed and well-trained volunteers, but also the appropriate equipment.

The community knows that.

It has therefore invested around 334,000 euros in the extension and renovation of the fire brigade equipment house, including the most modern hose maintenance system.

On Sunday, the expansion of the house on Labbach was celebrated with an outdoor church service followed by a morning pint.

For the guests there was white sausage and pretzels, the Münsing band played.

The initially planned open day had to be canceled due to the increased incidence in the district.

Thanks to the extension, everything has its place now. The changing rooms were spatially separated from the vehicle hall by a drywall. On a large screen above the open lockers, all current data such as the storm situation, the number of active members and the most recent missions flicker. In the extension to the west, the equipment such as hoses, lights, pumps and fans are neatly housed. There, facing the meadow, there is also a small terrace for barbecuing and sitting together.

The 70,000 euro testing and cleaning device for the fire hoses, a kind of Mercedes among these devices, is in the basement.

Whereas six to seven people used to have to clean the hoses, today, thanks to modern technology, one or two people are enough to put them in the machine and then take them out again - a great time and energy saving.

Nothing has changed on the upper floor with the training and common rooms.

Only the old concrete staircase was re-tiled, which makes the entrance area much friendlier.

Just as the help in an emergency only works together, the new tool shed is also a joint effort, said Pastor Anton Wammetsberger at the inauguration ceremony. Because the Münsingen firefighters have put countless hours of personal work into the extension according to the plans of the Münsingen architect Michael Bruckmeir since construction began in autumn 2019. After the shell was in place in January 2020, they got started: They took on the drywall, the electrical, ventilation and sanitary areas as well as the painting themselves with the support of local craft businesses. Mayor Michael Grasl paid “respect and esteem” to the volunteers for this achievement, performed at the end of the day and on the weekends. For some firefighters, the house has become a second home, he said. "Everything is fine now."

First Commandant Peter Müller thanked the comrades.

District fire chief Erich Zengerle joined the general praise.

The fire brigades nowadays have an abundance of tasks to deal with.

Every cent in new tool sheds, vehicles and protective equipment is sensibly invested there.
