Schliersee - After criticism and investigations, the operator of the Schliersee senior citizens' residence withdraws and is looking for a successor.
As SO Nursing Homes GmbH, the operator of the Schliersee senior citizens' residence, has now announced, the supply contract was terminated by the Working Group of Care Fund Associations in Bavaria (Arge) on September 30th. The communication also states that several negotiations are already underway for a possible takeover by another operator. With this, the company Sereni Orizzonti, headquartered in Italy, wants to prevent negative effects on residents and employees.
The senior citizens' residence in Schliersee came under fire in May 2020 after a corona outbreak. At that time, the armed forces provided support on site and pointed out poor maintenance. Finally, the public prosecutor began to investigate and the members of the Bavarian state parliament also dealt with the question of how this could come to be. During the BR's research work, the Miesbach district office did not come off well as the responsible home supervisor.
As a result, the consortium finally announced the termination of the supply contract around four months ago, which has now also been pronounced.
As reported by SO Nursing Homes, this development is very much regretted.
Nevertheless, the company would now like to work with all authorities to ensure that there are as few negative effects as possible on all people living and working directly in the home.
Negotiations are ongoing with various interested parties who could continue to operate the senior citizens' residence.
With one of them, the talks should be well advanced.
According to the communication, this solution would ensure seamless continuity.
If this option does not lead to any result, all residents should be offered an alternative solution in another facility.
As home manager Robert Jekel said when asked about the future of the senior citizens' residence, the staff will of course continue to do their best to meet the needs and well-being of the residents. He also promised their families full support and help.
