Mercedes is expanding its range of electric models at high speed and is showing three new powered SUVs at the IAA Mobility in Munich.
Munich - Mercedes * is expanding its electric portfolio for off-road vehicles: G-Class and a Maybach model will also be electric in the future.
In addition, there is the EQB as an E alternative to the compact GLB.
All of them will show up at the Munich IAA (September 7th to 12th).
Mercedes EQB: still available from dealers in 2021
According to the factory, the 4.68 meter long EQB with up to seven seats will be available at dealerships in 2021. Similar to the EQA, it also comes in several configurations with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. All of them can go up to 160 km / h. In Europe, sales begin with the EQB 300 (168 kW / 228 PS) and the EQB 350 (215 kW / 292 PS). The battery provides WLTP ranges of up to 419 kilometers.
The G-Class * remains as an e-car EQG with the rustic ladder frame with independent wheel suspension at the front and rigid axle at the rear.
Four motors close to the wheel and a switchable gearbox are supposed to ensure outstanding properties in the field.
In contrast, the Maybach uses the new electric platform of the EQS.
In the medium term, it will also carry two SUVs in the GLE and GLS format.
As in the Maybach version of the S-Class and GLS, there are also two lounge chairs in the rear and particularly luxurious furnishings.
These include artificial fur instead of the floor mats and a floating center console.
Mercedes EQB: Maybach range at around 600 kilometers
The manufacturer has so far only given poor information on the technology of the two near-series studies, such as the range of around 600 kilometers for the Mercedes-Maybach EQS. Both models are planned for production, confirmed Mercedes in Munich. But customers will need at least one more year of patience for this.
