iPhone 13: Apple to increase production by 20% of its next 5G iPhone model

According to Bloomberg, the company has placed an order for 90 million devices in the launch quarter alone.

Apple made a splash with its first 5G compatible smartphone, the iPhone 12. This is pushing the company to think bigger for the next version, which will be presented in September.

According to Bloomberg, it would have ordered 90 million devices for the launch quarter alone (which includes Christmas and Black Friday), almost 20% more than in previous years.

The information propelled Apple stock to its all-time high when Wall Street opened, with investors anticipating a record first fiscal quarter 2022.

In a note published Wednesday, analysts at Credit Suisse believe that demand for iPhone 5G will exceed the circle of "early adopters" as operators extend coverage of the new telephone network and its uses expand.

Apple's supplier for certain components, STMicroelectronics also took advantage of the information.

Its share signed the second largest increase in the CAC 40 (+ 2.5%) in a little lively market during this national holiday.

A new service, "Apple Pay Later"

In addition, still according to Bloomberg, Apple was working on a new service with its partner Goldman Sachs. Integrated into Apple Pay, this "Apple Pay Later" would allow the user to make a purchase with his smartphone but to pay it in several installments (with or without interest depending on the due dates). The trader - physical or online - will be paid instantly, Goldman Sachs being the intermediary who will advance the funds. No details on the date and geography where this service will be offered is yet available.

At almost $ 150 a share, Apple's capitalization flirted with $ 2.5 trillion on Wednesday.
