The six security prisoners who escaped last night (Monday) through a tunnel dug from Gilboa Prison in the north, are jointly responsible for the murder of dozens of Israelis in various attacks.

The most prominent terrorist among them is 45-year-old Zakaria Zabeidi, who commanded the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Jenin and who was also responsible for the attack on the Likud branch in Beit She'an in 2002, in which six people were killed.

Prior to his arrest, Zabeidi lived in the Jenin refugee camp and held a senior position in the Palestinian Authority Prisoners' Office.

He is considered one of the top terrorist operatives in Judea and Samaria and is one of the activists included in the "wanted agreement" from 2007. Prior to that, he served as commander of Fatah's al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Jenin.

According to the GSS, Zechariah Zabeidi blatantly and violently violated the said undertaking and was involved in carrying out a number of terrorist attacks, after undertaking to cease all terrorist activity.

According to the policy of the security forces, deviating from a wanted person and returning to carry out terrorist attacks will result in the execution of a sentence against him, also for his past activities.

"Therefore, Zabeidi was prosecuted for all the terrorist activity in which he was involved - this past and the one that was recently exposed."

Zabeidi also became famous following his social ties with the Israeli Tali Fahima, who converted to Islam at a certain time during their acquaintance, but she shunned him, accusing him of collaborating with the GSS. Also, in 2002, his mother was shot dead, apparently by IDF fire.
