Susanna, a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor, lived until recently in an apartment that was uninhabitable and dangerous to live in.

But thanks to the volunteers of the "Renovation Patrol", Susanna will celebrate Rosh Hashanah in a new, cozy and designed home and most importantly: safe and habitable.

Renovation Patrol - Association that assists Holocaust survivors, renovated the home of a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor from Rishon Lezion (Renovation Patrol)

The "Renovation Patrol for the Elderly and Holocaust Survivors" was established a little over a year ago, since then it has managed to renovate dozens of apartments for the elderly and Holocaust survivors and assist in repairing dangerous defects, equipping electrical appliances and furniture for dozens of other apartments for elderly and Holocaust survivors living in unsafe living conditions. The patrol's latest renovation project was conducted in the apartment of Susanna, a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor from Rishon Lezion who lives alone.

For years she lived in a house with broken floors, detached and dangerous walls, a dilapidated and defective kitchen and lots of old equipment the same toll for years, which accumulated and blocked almost every passage in the house.

The Renovation Patrol responded to an alert citizen who volunteered in her spare time to help Susanna, and was exposed to her living conditions on a spontaneous visit to her home.

With the help of dozens of volunteers from all over the country, the Danya Cebus company and the Praszkowski company, the apartment underwent a thorough renovation and a real makeover.

The renovation included repairing and strengthening a wall that was disconnected over the years from the ceiling and the walls attached to it, replacing the front door, replacing all the interior doors in the house, replacing all the house windows, equipping the house with new and safe appliances, installing a new air conditioner (donated by Electra), repairing and renovating the yard The house and equipping the whole house with new furniture.

The house has been repaired, arranged and made accessible for the needs of the elderly woman living in it, so that she can live the rest of her life in a warm, cozy and safe home.
