Who better than the designer of

L'Arabe du futur

to tackle this project. It was he who in 2008 made the best choice to play the protagonist of Les

Beaux Gosses

, a film that revealed the actor. “

I didn't want magazine beauties. I wanted to make a movie with “real people” with funny faces to watch. So I drew the teens I wanted for my casting director. We saw nearly 500 kids before making our choice, ”

he revealed to

Le Figaro

when the film was released.

“In 2008, I chose the young Vincent, 14, to become the first role in my film Les Beaux gosses. He was a shy, moving and awkward teenager, a college student in Zep, who had never thought of making films.

And here he found himself as the headliner! Since then, we have remained very close. Year after year, I have watched him grow and evolve in the fascinating and sometimes scary world of cinema. He told me a thousand stories about the life of an actor and of course I wrote everything down (lol). I made this book out of it! ”

, he recalled on social networks to announce his next album.

The graphic novel which will have two volumes, therefore draws its substance from the artistic career of Vincent Lacoste,

"or how an anonymous teenager who did not plan to make cinema became the most requested young actor of his generation"

, presented, this Monday in the wake, his publishing house Les Livres du futur.

Asked by AFP, the entourage of Riad Sattouf specified that the author had embarked on this project with the desire to control even more closely a process of publishing his books, from the layout until manufacturing, in which he was already very involved.

This star designer does not, however, break with his editor, Allary, since it is the latter who will publish the sixth and last volume of his autobiographical work,

The Arab of the Future

, scheduled for 2022. Riad Sattouf, 43, has experienced many multiple publishers, until his two greatest successes with Allary:

The Arab of the Future

(five volumes, 2.5 million copies) and Les Cahiers d'Esther ”(also five volumes, 950,000 copies).

He added:

"In this first volume, we follow Vincent Lacoste court of its PTA college movie film set, and we discover with her acting life and the very particular world of film ..."

The the actor's journey seen through the comic vein and talent of Riad Sattouf bodes well for a tasty reading moment.

After a long and complicated casting, Riad Sattouf chooses Vincent Lacoste for

Les Beaux Gosses
