The IAA in Munich starts on Tuesday - the big auto show that is taking place here for the first time.

Hildegard Müller, President of the Association of the Automotive Industry, got a very special overview on Sunday.

Together with trade fair boss Klaus Dittrich and economic advisor Clemens Baumgärtner, she flew over the various venues in a zeppelin at a height of 450 meters - and was thus able to see which huge event is landing in Munich *.

Munich: The big IAA auto show starts on Tuesday

"You can see the concept in practice here," says Dittrich enthusiastically when looking at Odeonsplatz and Wittelsbacherplatz.

It is impressive how many people present themselves in the city center: "Munich has never seen anything like this IAA!"

For Müller it is "one of the most modern trade fair concepts in the world".

From above you can already see wonderfully how this idea lives.

“A wonderful test field,” enthused Baumgärtner when looking at the marked Blue Lane environmental lane.

"Everyone else just talks about it, the IAA brought us to Munich, otherwise we would never have done it that way," said the economic advisor.

He promises a lot of knowledge for all urban traffic.

Königsplatz is one of the central IAA contact points in the city center.

This is also the stop for the shuttle buses that go to the exhibition center.

The ADAC has a large stand on the square, with Ford and Dacia, for example, presenting themselves.

Mercedes has the area in front of the Feldherrnhalle on -Odeonsplatz firmly under control.

The car manufacturer's setup for electromobility is spectacular.

Everything around the square revolves around technology and intelligent traffic solutions.

As of today, the new environmental lane applies in Munich

The Munich sign forest has one more attraction: There are special signs for Bavaria's first environmental lane especially for the auto show.

In the course of the IAA Mobility, this lane was created, which is called "Blue Lane" but is marked in yellow.

It connects the trade fair in Riem with the IAA offers in the city center - and is not for everyone!

The signs show who is allowed to use it: shuttle and regular buses, taxis, vehicles with E-license plates and vehicles with at least three occupants.

The Blue Lane is valid from today until the end of the IAA on Sunday.

It is twelve kilometers long in total.
