It gets loud in Poing.

Because the congregation is holding its fifth Long Night of Music on September 18th.

Here you can see at a glance which musicians will play exactly when and where.

Poing - If you want to sleep early in Poing, you should get earplugs very quickly.

Because there will soon be something for the ears there for seven hours: On Saturday, September 18, the municipality of Poing will organize another Long Night of Music after a one-year break.

Musicians of all kinds will perform their works at 25 different locations in Poing.

"There is rock, pop and classical music, jazz, soul and blues, Bavarian and Latin, virtuoso, cool and dignified", promises Poing's first mayor Thomas Stark.

He is pleased that, despite the difficult situation caused by the pandemic, there is still a “cultural highlight” this year.

Long night of music in Poing: from youth centers to old people's homes, everything is included

And music can be heard everywhere in Poing: from an organ concert in the old church to the Oldies Bar with the pop band Petra-Pan and right next to it the Panzerknacker in the Plathong Thai Restaurant, there is something going on in the south of Poing.

You can also sing karaoke there in the Orth garage.

In the center of Poingen there are three bands in the youth center: "Restive Rooster", "Waseem Live!" And "Maybe-Sunday-Munich."

Only a few hundred meters away, there is something on offer in the hall of mirrors of the community center with three-song music and zither music.

Likewise in the Café Seniorenzentrum with Bavarian folk music by "Peter Vomberg and Lorenzi Musi" or in the Protestant church with classical music by the "Zmeskall Quartet".

From the east with the Beatles tribute band "The Twist and Shout" in the Poinger Einkehr to the mobile disco of the DJ "Retro Rösl" on Bergfeldsee in the west of Poingen.

And right up in the north, the Poinger music band plays in the construction management container of ARGE Poing with free beer and snack.

A total of 29 different music formations are out on the evening to entertain all music enthusiasts.

"The ideal opportunity to get to know places in the community that you would otherwise hardly get to, such as the workshops of the Bavarian State Opera," explains Stark.

The Tom Petty tribute band “Gainsville” will play there in the industrial park.

Long night of music in Poing: Admission doesn't cost a single cent anywhere

All concerts are free, only food and drinks on site need to be paid for.

“The local gastronomy also benefits from this,” said the mayor.

So, just like on the long nights before, citizens should be able to listen a little everywhere.

However, due to the hygiene measures, there will not be a shuttle bus that takes citizens from one concert venue to the next, explains Stark.

“But most places are still within walking distance and there are still regular buses,” he says.

Long night of music in Poing: Music plays in Poing from 5 p.m. to midnight

The municipality has put together further information about the concerts and musicians - including a map with all the venues - in a flyer.

This can be found on the town hall website, among other places.

But as in previous years, there are still stragglers: For example, the rock band "Brockhouse", which played at the OMV petrol station from 7 p.m., no longer made it into the program.

It can never be ruled out that one or the other musician will be carried away to a spontaneous concert.

The fifth Long Night of Music begins at 5 p.m. and the last note sounds at midnight.
