The Southern Command is preparing for the failure of negotiations on the outline for the transfer of funds from Qatar to Gaza, and expects escalation in the region over the near future.

In the background, the IDF reorganized the border area in front of the riots, and set up reserve forces to protect the border and settlements in the Gaza Envelope.

Hamas threatened that if they did not accept its demands, it would not hesitate to raise the flames on Rosh Hashanah. Senior members of the defense establishment said today that "the IDF is prepared for all scenarios, including days of battle in the foreseeable future."

Hamas has stepped up violence and popular terrorism along the Gaza Strip border in recent weeks to voice its opposition to the transfer of funds from Qatar to the Gaza Strip under total UN control. Palestinian: At the beginning of the escalation on the border, a fighter from the undercover unit, Barel Hadaria Shmueli, was killed, and popular terrorism has not stopped, and it continues to this day.

Meanwhile, Israel's efforts are being mediated by Qatar and Egypt, the Palestinian Authority and backed by the United States, to persuade Hamas to come down from the tree and allow the new mechanism to operate.

At the same time, the Israeli government decided to unilaterally approve a series of concessions and benefits for the citizens of the Gaza Strip, free of charge and regardless of events on the fence, including the importation of goods previously banned from crossing Kerem Shalom, such as construction inputs and new vehicles;

Expansion of the fishing space;

Entry of thousands of workers and traders to work in Israel and more.

Despite all this, Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip Yahya Sinwar is making it difficult to approve the Qatari money distribution mechanism, and has instructed his men not to prevent terrorism on the fence, including during the holidays and at the cost of escalating with the IDF.

In recent hours, news began to appear in the Palestinian media about an agreement reached between Qatar, Egypt and Israel on a new outline for the transfer of funds, some of which would involve Hamas.

Despite this, the Southern Command does not give the impression that there will be peace along the border in the coming weeks and is preparing for the possibility of days of fighting against Hamas to the point of degenerating into a broad campaign - although both sides are not interested.

Meanwhile, the engineering forces of the Southern Command set up mounds of dirt in the border area last week, while at the same time protection components were placed for the fighters, battle orders were refreshed and reserve forces were put on alert, including along the border and around the settlements.

Senior officials in the Southern Command said in recent days that "Yahya Sinwar still does not understand that he received from Israel above and beyond, so he needs to calm the area. Israel will not sit idly by for a long time and will have to respond harshly to this terrorism."
