The farmers of Al-Hasakah Governorate started the cotton harvest operations for the current season in various areas of agricultural stability.
The Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Al-Hasakah Governorate, Eng. Rajab Salameh, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the harvesting operations are still in their infancy and are concentrated in the northern regions of the governorate, such as Amuda, Ad-Darbasiyah and Abu Rasin, where the peak harvest phase is expected to begin in the middle of this month and usually continue until the end of November Next, with expectations of a production of approximately 16 thousand and 300 tons.
Salama pointed out that the date for the start of receiving cotton in the governorate was set on the twenty-fifth of this month, noting that the crop was good, as it did not suffer during the plant's growth period from insect infestations except in small and scattered areas that did not affect the production quantities.
It is noteworthy that the area planted with cotton in Al-Hasakah Governorate for the current season is approximately 4,679 hectares.
