A British doctor was fired after being caught napping while patients waited to be seen.

, 33, Glasgow, was found asleep on a bench and wrapped in a blanket.

The professional was on call at Fairfield Hospital near Bury, UK, when she decided to take a two-hour break.

A nurse, known as Ms. H, went to look for her four times, but could not locate her.

Finally, she was found sleeping in a locker room.

For this situation, which

occurred in March 2017, she

was found guilty of misconduct, dishonesty and poor professional performance.


The Fairfield Hospital where the questioned doctor worked.

"It was the first time that I remember that a doctor disappeared in the emergency department," said the nurse in a statement to the Medical Court Service.

Sawati was fired and said she will appeal the court decision.

According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, it is not the first irregularity in his career.

The doctor also failed a patient who died of respiratory failure in a nursing home;

he exaggerated his role in treating a baby suffering from cardiac arrest;

lied about his qualifications during a job interview.

Dr Raisah Sawati, 33, was on call at Fairfield Hospital near Bury, UK, when she decided to take a nap.

"They have treated me unfairly because this is my career and I am an apprentice," said the young woman, who also asserted that she is ill.

"My health problems are very serious and, as you can imagine, being a doctor is a pretty tough job in terms of shifts," he claimed.

"I was in a lot of pain and I had to take some paracetamol because I had

menstrual pain

. I sat down to let the medication work because I could barely walk because I had a lot of cramps in my lower abdomen and legs," he said.

She was found guilty of misconduct, dishonesty, and poor professional performance in the Medical Practitioners Court Service.
