Emotion, a heavyweight in the November 13 attacks

2021-09-07T14:59:31.716Z

ANALYSIS - Terrorism cases often reach the limits of the bearable: one more stake for the magistrates.

The trial of the Islamist attacks of Friday, November 13, 2015 is due to open this Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Paris courthouse, on the Île de la Cité.

The killings perpetrated at the Stade de France, in Saint-Denis, on the terraces of several cafes in the 10th and 11th arrondissements of the capital and, finally, at the Bataclan, will be carefully analyzed.

The specially composed Assize Court - there are no popular jurors in terrorism cases - will also examine at length the genesis of the attacks sponsored by Daesh from Syria.

In addition to the witnesses, experts, investigators, political figures - including the former head of state François Hollande - who will testify throughout 140 half-days (at least), it will be necessary to reckon with the emotion, which plays a special role in this type of audience.

The weight of suffering is sometimes unbearable there, because each victim adds to the building his raw stone of pain.

We checked it again last year during the January terrorist attacks.
