Today, firefighting personnel in Homs governorate put out two fires that broke out in dry grasses and forest and fruit trees in the western Homs countryside.
Brigadier General Ghiath Akil, Director of Civil Defense in Homs, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the civil defense cadres put out a fire that broke out with dry grasses and eucalyptus trees on the Homs-Tartous international road, indicating that the area of the fire is estimated at about two acres.
Aqel explained that the civil defense cadres, in cooperation with the Fire Department of the Agriculture Department and the Homs Fire Brigade, dealt with another fire that spread at dawn today from the Lebanese territories to the Syrian territories near the town of Al-Msherfa in the western countryside of Homs and reached olive trees and herbs, and they were able to put it out and carry out cooling and monitoring operations to prevent its recurrence, in addition to helping to put out A section of the fire on the Lebanese side.
