iPhone 13: What's new for users?

2021-09-07T09:59:25.450Z

Rumors about this new model evoke, among other things, new colors, more powerful batteries and better video quality.

In a few days, Apple should present its new iPhone 13, during its official Keynote.

No precise date has been formalized by the brand, but several sources are betting on Tuesday, September 14.

Pre-orders would then open on Friday, September 17, before an in-store release scheduled for September 24.

Apple is expected to offer the same design as the iPhone 12 with four comparable variations: iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Small novelty concerning the colors with variants of gold, the arrival of bronze or a deep black which would replace graphite.

Speculation is rife around a possible disappearance of the iPhone lightning port, in favor of USB C or exclusively wireless charging.

But that should not be the case for this generation yet.

As for the screen, the sizes would be the same as the iPhone 12, between 5.4 and 6.7 inches.

If the OLED panels, supplied by Samsung Display and LG Display, would still be used, the new "

LTPO

" could appear on the Pro models.

With this new screen, the refresh rate would go from 60 to 120 Hz, making it more fluid for the user.

Apple would thus take the opportunity to catch up with its Android competitors, who have already made this transition in 2020.

Increased autonomy

Despite a more energy-consuming screen, Apple would have compensated for this problem with new technical advances.

For example, the A15 Bionic chip in the iPhone 13 is said to have improved engraving.

This new chip would speed up the performance of the iPhone.

The batteries would also be more powerful to maintain a level of autonomy at least equal to that of previous generations.

Finally, for the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, the maximum storage space of 512 GB would be increased to 1 TB, something to delight those who lack space on their smartphone.

As for the photo, no real change. Two sensors, wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle, will always be present on the iPhone 13 mini and the iPhone 13. A third telephoto sensor will only complement the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Unlike the iPhone 12, all models would be equipped with a LiDAR sensor, making it possible to map its environment in 3D. According to some rumors, photo sensors have larger apertures, especially at ultra-wide-angle. The novelties would focus more on video, with the arrival of 8K resolution or the new Portrait mode, already present in photos. These features would be available only on the Pro versions.

This new iPhone should be offered at the same prices as those of the iPhone 12, i.e. 809 euros for the iPhone 13 mini, 909 euros for the iPhone 13, 1159 euros for the Pro version and 1259 euros for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
