The day after the death of Jean-Paul Belmondo, the Presidency of the Republic announced that a
“national ceremony”
would be held, Thursday, September 9, in the courtyard of the Invalides, in Paris.
It will take place the day before the actor's funeral, at the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church.
He was
"a national treasure",
tweeted Emmanuel Macron, who had elevated him to the rank of Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor in 2019. And ending with:
"In him, we all found ourselves."

The organization of this tribute was not completely stopped yesterday, the presidency still being in contact with the family and the military governor of Paris to put an end to it.
We just know that the tribute, which will be chaired by Emmanuel Macron, will not have the formal stiffness of major military ceremonies.
He will want to be popular, like the colorful actor and full of freedom.
The tone is not easy to find if the president does not want to fall into a lawsuit for recovery.
