Today, the People's Assembly continued its second session of the fourth special session of the third legislative session, held under the chairmanship of Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Council, and devoted to discussing the ministerial statement of the government that includes its work program for the next phase, in the presence of Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous and the ministers.

In their interventions, some members called for providing health insurance for retirees and athletes, raising the ceiling of medical coverage in hospitals for the health insured, accelerating the pace of opening bank accounts for real estate sales in banks, raising the daily withdrawal limit for depositors, reconsidering the high real estate valuations in some areas, unfair rental allowances, and reducing tax evasion. In particular, by large taxpayers and the issuance of integrated tax legislation.

With regard to the exchange rate, some members called for imposing the most severe penalties on speculators on the Syrian pound, amending the legislation that guarantees this, preventing mediation cases between investors and the government, reconsidering the current regulation of institutions and companies working in the field of money exchange, and reducing the difference between the official exchange rate and the price in the parallel market to attract remittances. foreign exchange.

They stressed the importance of securing the requirements for reconstruction, accelerating the issuance of organizational plans for the main cities in the governorates, reviewing the expropriation law in general, raising compensation for the families of the martyrs and the wounded, accelerating the decision to sort out engineers, developing university education in line with the labor market, benefiting from new graduates, enhancing their expertise, securing job opportunities for them, and accelerating the pace of infrastructure rehabilitation. and services in the liberated areas to facilitate the return of the displaced to them.

They stressed the need to automate the work of real estate interests, open more citizen service centers and single windows according to the population density in the governorates, increase the number of electronic payment services, reduce cases of slack and red tape in some institutions, and hold accountable the wrongdoers and those responsible for wasting public money, inquiring about the standards approved by the government in the distribution of energy electrical in different areas.

A number of council members criticized the spread of smuggled materials and goods, especially consumer goods, in the streets, markets and shops, which cause serious damage to the corresponding national products, stressing the need to expedite the reform of the customs system and for the patrols of the General Customs to combat smuggling at the borders and not only within cities and villages.

They pointed to the need to provide facilities for industrialists to restore their facilities, encourage investment, work to return investors who left the country, implement strategic development plans such as renewable energy projects, increase support for small, medium and micro enterprises in an effective and real way, fight corruption and return embezzled funds to the public treasury.

They called for raising the prices of wheat, barley, cotton and beet crops to encourage farmers to plant them, motivate them to plant fodder, find solutions to secure drinking water for the people of Hasaka and Tel Tamr, preserve public sector companies and institutions and their employees, extend the expertise of engineers and technicians in them, and enhance the participation of the private sector in development and production projects.

A number of members stressed the importance of increasing the number of health centers, creating a blood bank in every hospital, limiting the emigration of doctors abroad, implementing concrete measures to encourage them to stay, consolidating citizens’ trust in the judiciary, establishing the principle of transparency and openness between the government and citizens regarding various life and living issues, supporting the tourism and hotel sector, and enhancing the role of the transport sector. Public as well as private and allowing the import of used tourist cars.

The session was suspended until 12 noon tomorrow, Wednesday.
