Munich - The new kindergarten year starts in a week, shortly before that, the Bavarian cabinet has now also agreed on new corona regulations in this area - as before for schools *.

Family Minister Carolina Trautner said this on Tuesday morning.

According to this, day-care facilities such as crèches, day-care centers and kindergartens are currently in regular operation, regardless of incidence.

Fixed groups are no longer required, but many carriers retained this rule in order to be able to better maintain operations in the event of an infection with the coronavirus *.

Daycare centers in the corona pandemic: parents should test children

The general hygiene plan continues to apply, according to which daycare workers must wear a mouth and nose cover if the distance cannot be maintained.

Sick children are still not allowed to go to daycare, but "lighter sniffles" could come back after a negative corona test.

This will initially be maintained mainly because more infections are to be expected from people returning from travel.

As before the holidays, parents received authorization certificates for corona rapid tests that they can redeem in pharmacies.

According to Trautner, it is also possible to get so-called lollipop tests.

Parents are encouraged to test their children at home twice a week.

Quarantine in corona cases in daycare: New rules in Bavaria

Should an infection occur, new quarantine regulations would apply immediately: the infected child would have to be in isolation, and close contact persons would only have to be in quarantine for five days. After that, they could test themselves. Playmates, for example, are rated as close contact persons; the entire daycare group no longer automatically has to be quarantined. Vaccinated employees are also excluded. The respective health department assesses the situation on a case-by-case basis and also assesses the situation, for example, based on the ventilation situation and the use of an air purification device.

Despite all the measures, Trautner makes it clear: Corona infections are not the big problem in daycare centers *.

There are 10,200 daycare centers in Bavaria, 45 of which are currently affected by a corona outbreak.

Only one is completely closed.
